What’s it all about?
Active Surrey, in partnership with Run England, aims to grow recreational running opportunities for beginners in Surrey. The Run Surrey project started in 2012 and has supported the development of beginner and recreational running groups throughout Surrey, leading to over 1200 new runners getting involved.
How do I get started?
Run England can help you in your running by helping you find the support and motivation of running with others in local registered running groups led by qualified, insured group leaders.
To find your local Run Surrey group or 0-5k course go to Run England Surrey.Dust off your trainers and go to Run England Surrey to find a local group and start running - you’ll feel the benefit within a few weeks.
Run England membership is free to join and offers many benefits, including a £15 sweatshop running shoe voucher (remember to opt-in to receive the news)
Would you like to become a Run Leader?
We are looking for Run Leaders who can inspire others to take their first steps into running. If you are supportive, patient, passionate, excited by helping others to achieve their goal and keen to share your love of running we would love to hear from you.
To become a Run Leader you need to attend a one day LiRF (Leadership in Running Fitness) course, which on completion, provides you with a coaching licence (including insurance) to lead run sessions. The course specifically focuses on how to lead a group of beginners or recreational runners.
Run Surrey, in partnership with Run England, have just launched a bursary to provide a 50% refund for the cost of the course (Course cost £160 - with £80 refund *conditions apply).

What is a 3-2-1 route?
3-2-1 is Run England’s programme which aims to provide a range of marked running or jogging routes across the country that anyone can have a go at. How do I get started?
